► RR Heilpern and Davey set Mile Age Group ARs in Danville
The Mile of Truth was not a national championship this year, but that didn’t prevent Jaime Heilpern and Neville Davey from setting Mile ARs in their new age groups. Heilpern, who’s pending 10 Mile M55-59 AR (53:28) set at The SACTOWN Run last month will be ratified by the Masters LDR Committee on 5/6, broke SoCal’s Christian Cushing-murray’s mark of 4:47, set in 2023 with a sizzling 4:44. Davey, the M40-44 Mile AR holder (4:22) showed he’s still got wheels as he matched Michael Madsen’s M50-54 mark of 4:38 set at the same race where Cushing-murry’s time was set.*
*Due to a USATF rule change (165.7(b)) Road Mile official times are now to be rounded up to the next tenth of a second rather that the next whole second so Heilpern’s time will be 4:43.x and Davey’s time will be 4:37.x. We’ll know the exact value of each x when we get those updated results.
