Schedule and Results of Pacific Association Championship Race Walks
The 2024 Championship Race Walk season consists of the following races: 1,500 Meter, One Mile, 3,000 Meter, 5,000 Meter, One Hour (Tentative), and 10 Kilometer.
Saturday, Feb 3, 2024 – 1,500 Meter Race Walk Championship
The USA Track and Field Pacific Association 1,500-meter Race Walk Championship was the first race of the 2024 season. The event was conducted on Saturday, February 3, 2024, in two separate races – 9:30am Women, followed by 9:50am Men – before the Cal All-Comers #1 Track Meet, in Berkeley, CA. There was no Penalty Zone. The weather was in the low-50’s with overcast skies.

Saturday, Feb 17, 2024 – One Mile Race Walk Championship
The USA Track and Field Pacific Association One Mile Race Walk Championship was to have been conducted on Saturday, February 17, at 9:30am, on the track at Edwards Stadium at the University of California in Berkeley, CA, before the California Golden Bears All-Comers #2 Track & Field Meet.
Unfortunately, the organizers cancelled all events due to extreme weather conditions.
Saturday, Mar 2, 2024 – 3,000 Meter Race Walk Championship
The USA Track and Field Pacific Association 3,000-meter Race Walk Championship was conducted on Saturday, March 2, 2024, in one combined race for Men and Women, starting at 10 a.m. before the Cal Season Opener Track Meet in Berkeley, CA. There was no Penalty Zone. The weather was in the mid-40’s with light rain showers.

Saturday OR Sunday, June 1 OR 2, 2024 – 5,000 Meter Race Walk Championship
The USA Track and Field Pacific Association 5,000-meter Race Walk Championship will be held on Saturday, June 1, as part of the Golden West Invitational Track & Field Meet at Rancho Cordova High School in Rancho Cordova, CA (Sacramento area). Women and Men race together in one combined event. Register for the Golden West Invitational Track & Field Meet for the 5,000 Meter Walk. Deadline for registrations is May 28 midnight. Sorry, no same-day registrations.

Saturday, Oct 25 (?), 10K Race Walk Championship (& More)
The Pacific Association 10-kilometer Race Walk Championship is currently being planned for Saturday, October 5 in the Sacramento area. There will be one combined women’s and men’s 10-kilometer race. Tentative location is a soon-to-be certified one-km loop road course near Robla Community Park at 625 Bell Road, Sacramento, CA. Otherwise, the race will be on the existing certified one-kilometer loop course at William B. Pond Park in Carmichael, CA. The 10K Race Walk is a Pacific Association Championship. Shorter distances may be available, along with a combined women’s and men’s 3-kilometer Power Walk. Entry form will be posted here when available.

Sunday, Oct 29, 2023 –10K and 20K RW Championship Grand Prix (plus 3K Power Walk)
Combined women’s and men’s 5-kilometer, 10-kilometer, and 20-kilometer race walks were held on Sunday, October 29 on a certified one-kilometer loop course at William B. Pond Park in Carmichael, California (Sacramento area). The 10K and 20K Racewalks are Grand Prix Championships and count for Grand Prix scoring. There were no registrations for the 5k and 20k distances. A combined women’s and men’s 3-kilometer Power Walk followed the completion of the race walks. Awards and picnic followed, with everyone invited to attend the Annual PA RW Committee meeting. These races were hosted by Sierra Race Walkers on behalf of the Pacific Association.

The 2022 Grand Prix Championship season consisted of the following races: 1,500 Meter, One Mile, 5,000 Meter, 10 Kilometer, and 20 Kilometer. Despite the dynamic situation with the COVID-19 pandemic, all races were in-person physically-present races.

The USA Track and Field Pacific Association 1,500-meter Race Walk was the first race of the 2022 Grand Prix Championship. It was conducted on January 29, in Berkeley, CA, as part of the California Golden Bears 2022 All-Comers Track & Field Meet. Women’s race was conducted first, followed by a separate Men’s Race.

Separate women’s and men’s Pacific Association Grand Prix One-Mile Race Walks were conducted as part of the UC-Berkeley/Cal All Comers’ Track and Field Meet. Women’s race started at 9:33am, and separate Men’s race at 9:59am.

The USA Track and Field Pacific Association 5,000-meter Race Walk Grand Prix Championship was held on Saturday, June 4. The combined Men’s and Women’s races were conducted as part of the Pacific Association Open Track & Field Championship, in combination with the Golden West Track & Field meet at Rancho High School in Rancho Cordova, CA (near Sacramento, CA).

Sunday, Sep 11, 2022 – 10 Kilometer AND 20 Kilometer RW Championship Grand Prix
A combined women’s and men’s 10-kilometer race walk was held on a certified one-kilometer loop course at William B. Pond Park in Carmichael, California (Sacramento area). There were no finishers in the combined women’s and men’s 20-kilometer race walk. A combined women’s and men’s 3-kilometer Power Walk followed the completion of the race walks. An Awards Ceremony was held after the post-race picnic to distribute race medals and Grand Prix medals. The Annual Meeting of the Race Walk Committee followed.

The USA Track and Field Pacific Association COVID-19 #AloneTogether Virtual 1,500-meter Race Walk was the first race of the 2021 Grand Prix. It was conducted from February 6 to 28, 2021.
The event was conducted on city streets and sidewalks, school tracks, parking lots, paved pathways, park trails, and treadmills across the USA.
