Bob was a beloved member of our Track and Field community and his announcing skills were unparalleled.
His love for Track and Field was born in the 1950’s as a student at Cal . After graduating from Cal and completing Law School his career as announcer began.
For over 50 years Bob Announced the Golden West Invitational especially during those years when the GWI stood as the Premier National High School Meet in the Country. Bob was also heavily involved in selecting those athletes who were chosen to come to Sacramento. Bob was the announcer when Michael Carter threw his incredible HS shot 81’3 1/2 in 1979, a record that stands to this day He also announced for decades the Sacramento Meet of Champions and  the Sac-Joaquin Section Championships.
And those  years when the State Meet was in Sacramento Bob was the man behind the Mic. Robert attended Multiple Olympic Games and World Championships and one of his great disappointments in his final years was the inability to attend the Arcadia Invitational. Bob in fact was recognized by Track and Field News and was one of the small group that selected the Annual All-American Team.
