Elite PA Ultrarunners to

Compete at World 100K

from Hollis Lenderking, PA Ultra Subcomittee Chair

Three PA ultrarunners have been named to Team USA to compete at the 25th IAU 100K World Championships in Winschoten, Netherlands, on September 10, 2011. They are Devon Crosby-Helms and Chikara Omine, both of San Francisco, and Joe Binder of Oakland.

At the 2010 World Championships in Gibraltar, Omine was the second American finisher and ninth overall for the silver-medal-winning men's team whose members placed 3-9-12 individually.  Unfortunately Omine has suffered a stress fracture in his foot this year and is considered tentative as a competitor at this year's championships.

In 2009, Crosby-Helms was also the second-finishing American and fourth overall for the gold-medal women's team that placed 1-4-5.
