10/12/08 – Pilcher, Steel Win 2008 USA Masters 5 km Cross Country Championships

GREENSBORO, NC – Tamalpans Brian Pilcher and Karen Steele were victorious at USATF 5K XC Masters Championships held in Greensboro, NC on October 12. Brian Pilcher defeated a crowded field in the men’s 50-59 division (17:08) to win with an age-graded, 87.49 (2nd best age graded score in the meet). Karen Steele conquered a large and competitive field with first place in the Women’s 50-54 age group at the Masters 5K championship. It took a 20:08 PR (0:17 below her previous best time) to win. Both came home from North Carolina sporting new USATF Gold Medals. |
