Louise Walters, James Beckett claim Gold at 
 
U.S. Masters 3,000m Racewalk

This past Friday, March 4, 2011, two of our Pacific Association Masters athletes participated in the 2011 USA Masters Indoor Track & Field Championships in Albuquerque, New Mexico.  Their event was the 3,000m racewalk.  Both if them walked away with a first place win in their age group.  They didn't let the altitude in Albuquerque effect their attitude to win.  Louise Walters, (Sierra Racewalkers) won the women's 70-74 age group with a time of 19:27.58.  James Beckett, (Marin Racewalkers), won the men's 70-74 age group with a time of 17:45.27.   
  
Both Louise and James continues to be standouts in the Masters race walk community and holds many Age Group American Records in different distances.  Look for the two of them in the future as they set goals to do well in the upcoming World Masters T&F Championships in Sacramento in July.
